Bootcamps are a great way to get fit.
And they are especially popular in the early summer when they allow you to join a class outside in a park or a place of natural beauty (on a beach) or half way up a mountain.
Of course, they are not so much fun when it rains – which is why some bootcamps stick to an indoors routine and only head outside if the weather allows.
Still, this means you can select from gym based bootcamps – with outside options, to those bootcamps purely (or mainly) based outside.
In some cases, the bootcamp will be local – and run almost as a weekly class in your local park – say every Tuesday at 6.30pm. However, many bootcamps are residential and run over a long weekend – from Friday to Sunday etc…
The residential element allows you to both get away from your normal work or home environment but also to review and control your diet.
Classically, before you join a bootcamp you’ll be advised to stay clear of coffee, tea and alcohol – just as a simple way to begin a dextox course with the aim of getting into shape and losing a few pounds too.
So, the best bootcamps – outside but from a residential base (with indoor fall back facilities) take place in the late spring, summer and early autumn.
From the NW of England – Manchester, Liverpool, Chester etc – it is probably worth travelling a couple of hours to reach either North Wales and Snowdonia – or the North West Welsh beaches – or alternatively to head up to Cumbria and the lakes.
There is something quiet special about getting away from it all!
Equally, if getting away is either too expensive or complicated, then look for a weekly or 5 day (evenings only) bootcamp near you in your gym or for a personal trainer who is running a bootcamp class in your local park.
You can find these all across Chester, Liverpool and Manchester – or you can check out our personal trainers in your local area to see who is offering what….
